How to enable Flash player on a web browser that has it disabled by default?

Flash player is required to make use of NFB/Interactive and manage chapters by CAMPUS subscribers.

At the moment, only Google Chrome disables Flash player as a default setting. To know how to go about enabling it, please follow these simple steps (all text below taken from support.google.com).

Step 1: Make sure Google Chrome is up-to-date

  1. On your computer, launch Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More .
  3. Click Update Google Chrome. If you don’t see this button, you’re on the latest version.
  4. Click Relaunch.

Step 2: Active Adobe Flash Player for a Website

  1. Navigate to a website, for example onf.ca or nfb.ca.
  2. Click on the padlock on the left in the Chrome address bar.
  3. Choose “site settings”.
  4. Select “allow” for Flash.
  5. Close the “site settings” tab and reload the web page.

Step 3: Update Adobe Flash Player

  1. On your computer, launch Chrome.
  2. In the address bar at the top, enter chrome://components and press Enter.
  3. Under “Adobe Flash Player,” click Check for update.
  4. Go back to the page with the Flash content. If it doesn’t load automatically, at the top left, click Reload .
