What technical requirements do I need to make the most of NFB resources in my classroom?

To make the most of NFB resources in the classroom, all you need is:   

  • a high-speed Internet connection;  
  • basic viewing or projection equipment;   
  • a usage licence. 

We also recommend using a computer that has a wired Internet connection and the latest versions of your operating system and Internet browser (e.g., Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, etc.).   

If you’re having trouble viewing a film due to a slow download speed, you can select a lower resolution. For more information, please consult this Help Centre article. 

Please note that a usage licence is required to use any of the resources available on nfb.ca in a classroom setting. You may already have a usage licence through your school board, your provincial Ministry of Education, or another organization. To find out, please contact us.
