How can I find NFB films to use in the classroom?

A vast collection of our productions and virtual educational programs is available online. Please note that some titles are available with closed captions for the hearing impaired or described video for the visually impaired.

Several search tools are at your disposal:

  1. Search for films by age or school subject;
  2. Explore the NFB collection by title, series, interactive works, directors, playlists, or subjects. These EXPLORE pages are accessible at the bottom of any nfb.ca page:
  1. Explore the various educational playlists, which you can access by clicking on EDUCATION on the left-hand menu of any nfb.ca page, followed by EDUCATIONAL PLAYLISTS in the listed options at the top of the page:
  1. Contact our Client Relations and Support team by submitting a request on this page

A usage licence is required to use any of the resources available on nfb.ca in a classroom setting. You may already have a usage licence through your school board, your provincial Ministry of Education, or another organization. To find out, please contact us.
